Vocabulary
- Town-an urban area that has a name, defined boundaries, and local government, and that is generally larger than a village and smaller than a city.
- Charter-a written grant by a country's legislative or sovereign power, by which an institution such as a company, college, or city is created and its rights and privileges defined.
- Guild-a medieval association of craftsmen or merchants, often having considerable power.
- Guild hall-a town hall.
- Journeyman-a trained worker who is employed by someone else.
- Apprentice-a person who is learning a trade from a skilled employer, having agreed to work for a fixed period at low wages
- Merchant- a person or company involved in wholesale trade, especially one dealing with foreign countries or supplying merchandise to a particular trade.
- Barter-exchange (goods or services) for other goods or services without using money.
- Carpenter- a person who makes and repairs wooden objects and structures.
- Cobbler-a person who mends shoes as a job
- Glover-a maker of gloves
- Blacksmith-a person who makes and repairs things in iron by hand

- Merchant guild- a local association of merchants directed towards international and interlocal trade.
- Wattle and daub-a composite building material used for making walls, in which a woven lattice of wooden strips called wattle is daubed with a sticky material usually made of some combination of wet soil, clay, sand, animal dung and straw.
